The smell of hot chocolate, toasty fireplaces and Christmas trees decorated with family memories, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Unfortunately, getting to the fun parts of Christmas can sometimes take a little work and while Maid to Shine has you covered on cleaning there’s still holiday activities to plan. Now we know that housework is usually our forte but today we’re playing the role of event planner as well. Here’s a list of Christmas fun happening around the Colorado Springs and Denver area this season!
Channel Your Inner Figure Skater
For just $10 (which includes skates) you can practice your figure eights and your falling, the best of both worlds! The skate rink is located at Acacia Park, 115 E. Platte Ave., in Downtown Colorado Springs and is open from 5-10pm. If you’re in the Denver area check out the rink at Skyline Park.
All Aboard!
Take an adventure to the North Pole while singing Christmas carols and sipping on hot cocoa. Interact with the elves and have your Christmas list ready when you meet Santa. The Santa Express runs until December 30 so grab your PJ’s and jump on board.
Lions and Tigers and Bears OH MY!
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is lit this Christmas (literally). Explore the Electric Safari with 85 light sculptures on over 50 acres! See your favorite animals glow and have a little chat with a very special guest. Here’s a hint: Hoho! Don’t worry Denver friends, the Denver Zoo’s got something pretty festive planned for you too!
Visit the North Pole
We’ve all heard of the North Pole, but how many of us can say that we’ve seen it in person? Run around the Christmas themed amusement park and experience the Candy Cane Coaster or pop in to see Ole’ St. Nick himself. Grab the kiddos and get ready for a day of holiday magic!
Light Up the Night
Santa is a busy fella this time of year but he’s making time for you at Chatfield Farms! Craft with Mrs. Claus, feed live reindeer and walk through thousands of lights. Throw on your winter coats and head on down to the farm. For even more lights check out the Blossoms of Light event at the Botanic Gardens.
Santa’s Got a Reindeer, You’ve Got a Horse
Ride around on Denver’s only holiday carousel! Enjoy a spirited ride for only $3 when you head downtown this December. Take a few trips around and find your favorite horse!
A Night at the Theater
Dive into a holiday tale with the Denver’s Center’s ‘A Christmas Carol.’ Warm your heart this season as your reminded what Christmas is truly about. The show runs until December 24, you won’t want to miss this amazing performance!
Christmas is amazing but it’s even better in Colorado! Let us know your favorite thing to do this holiday season and we hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
My kids much awaited ride, the Santa Express Train. Lots of Fun activities at the North Pole.
